Perera Positive

Kusal Perera failed a random drug test, while on tour with Sri Lanka in New Zealand, forcing him to be sent home.

The 25 year old was picked for the next match against New Zealand when he appeared positive in a random drug test. Nobody knows how long he has been taking the drugs but this may be the cause of his success! As a child, he was naturally gifted with cricket and still is for that matter; however, he thought otherwise and tried to improve his game illegally.

He has been sent home, to Sri Lanka, and may face a 4 year suspension if sample B of his blood is positive. Testers say it is unlikely for him to prove negative meaning his great career has been wasted away and we may never see him play for Sri Lanka again! It is not known how Sri Lanka will do without their top class wicket keeper/batsman!

These are some of his career statistics:

Kusal Perera Matches Runs Averages
Tests 3 169 33.8
ODIs 51 1259 27.36
T20s 22 596 27.09
