School evacuated?

On Wednesday 7th December 2016 St Ambrose Barlow RC High School was evacuated because of a non-serious chemical spill.

St Ambrose Barlow RC High School, on Ash Drive, was forced to send pupils home following the incident. Parents were sent a text telling them to collect their children at 14:40 or the children would have to wait until 15:25 (the normal home time of the school).

The spill happened in one of the school’s science prep rooms and a female lab technician was to sent to hospital. And one pupil with less serious injuries was treated on the scene by paramedics. The local area’s traffic was all standing still with hundreds of cars trying to get to the school all at once.chemical

This is Ambrose. We are a unique Catholic school. We have a deep commitment to each young person in our care to support them, nurture them and see them fulfil their potential. Our commitment is to the development of the 'whole child': to seeing our students grow in knowledge, confidence and maturity. The most important thing about us is that we are a Catholic community where everyone is welcome. Our faith is our greatest strength and sets us a great challenge each day: to find the best in everyone.
